Polaroids have always cheered me up when I’m feeling blue — in fact, the very first time I ever picked up a polaroid and used it creatively was for this reason. So when a few friends of mine came by, we took a walk on the beach and I brought along my polaroid with me. Each image produces magic for me, and I always get a surge of joy each time the the image appears to my eyes. It’s the instant gratification of digital, with the satisfaction of holding a real print in your hand. Nothing beats that.
This is going to sound crazy, but I’ve had a polaroid camera for some time but I’ve never figured out how to use it. I don’t have any film for starters, but even worse? I can’t figure out how to close the thing! Eep! Maybe i need to bring it to the beach in San Diego so you can teach me. One thing I know for sure is that film brilliantly captures the SoCal vibe.
