fridays & coffee.

. . . . . . . .

Happy Friday! I hope you all get a chance to catch up with friends over coffee this weekend. :)

The last image is of a flyer for a Tara Donavan exhibit at MCASD downtown – I highly recommend going to see it if you get the chance. I saw a Tara Donovan exhibit a few years back and I just love what she does with the most ‘ordinary’ objects. It’s so organic from the most inorganic things. Definitely a treat. :)

rain rain! (& sun!)

. . . . . . . . .

The past few days have been so sunny (and very gorgeous) that it felt like summer jumped up and slapped me in the face! *hi!*

However, rumor has it that rain is due to come back – something I do very much look forward to. (Variety is the spice of life!)

Image from when it was raining a whole heck of a lot last month. :)

happy valentine’s day <3

This is an old polaroid I took, way back when I was in my last year in college in 2004. The edges are discolored a bit because it was a part of a gift for Zach for his birthday, where I did polaroid transfers (and regular polaroids) and bound them all in a book. There were a few transfers that did not come out, so I stuck regular polaroids over them. And this is what happened to them, 6 years later.

happy chinese new year!

To be honest, I have no idea what those banners say. This was taken in 2008 when I went home for Christmas – this image was a part of a series of polaroids as well – but these were just images of home.

Two holidays in one day, how fun is that? :) I hope you are ringing in the new lunar year with your very special valentine ;)

(and I hope to share the rest of the images from these series someday)

A very simple and special moment, captured unknowingly :) These are my favorites.

tea upon chatsworth.

. . . . . . . . . . .

Quite possibly one of the funnest dining experiences I’ve had (I felt like I was in England!), was when I met a friend for high tea at Tea Upon Chatsworth in Point Loma. We were pampered with a wide selection of all their teas, and all these photo-worthy delectable treats! Their lemon scones are soooo yummy (not dry at all), their corn chowder is so savory, and a favorite of mine is their little trifle, which is the second to last image. I felt like such a lady here, and everyone was all so nice. Plus I loved their mismatched decor and tea cups everywhere! Such a fun time :) If you ever want to try this lovely place, I believe you will need to make a reservation, as space is small here, and it seems to be quite popular.
